Technology Update

The good news is that the new laptop battery and scanner cable both came in. I have yet to test out my two theories:
1) … That my battery dying is the cause for my webcam recordings having regularly corrupted due to Windows 10’s automatically-save-progress-when-the-battery-is-at-critical-levels feature. Therefore, if I replace the battery, I’ll be able to record from my webcam without corrupting the files and return to making regular speed-art/ timelapse videos.
2) … That if I get the cord to connect my scanner to my computer, that I can update the scanner’s drivers through the Windows online store and that will enable the scanner to reconnect to wifi and scan artwork again.
The not-so-good news is that I was in limbo for a bit trying to get my screen to work. I’ve discovered the problem is my VGA cable. I believe one of the wires snapped inside from having been folded up so many times while traveling weekly because when I angle it just right the screen appears like normal. I’ve successfully taped it in place tonight.
I swear, my computer setup is becoming more tape than it is technology!
These struggles are some of the many reasons why I want to upgrade from this trooper of a laptop that has gotten me through my education to something more capable of doing what I intend for my art career.
