For Yukina-Chi
for winning Best Execution in Anniverse's Valentines 2018 contest.

It's my first time, to my knowledge, that I have drawn someone's original species! She was really quite fun to draw. I have not depicted red hair in ages~ ^^

Omigosh I literally just deleted that comparison tweet and re-posted it because I thought it was glitched because I could see there was a comment but could not find ons. This in addition to having a typo and being un-editable to my knowledge. Haha! Glad that you let me know here. :D Thank you so much!! I'm so glad that you think I've improved so much and still maintain my own style!! It's something I waffle about when I look at my own art.

Beautiful~! The red hair and roses go well with one another ^o^ But I was told not to make highlights on the skin too reddish because they look like sore patches ^^; Lol so sorry! I used to do the same and someone told me they look like that :blushes:

It's fine. thank you for the pointer.s They help me see things in someone else's perspective. I think I will keep doing my style of blush this way depending on the other colors used, but I shall keep that in mind to help avoid making it look like it is soar. :) Do you yourself think it looks like a soar spot here or blush? I will not be offended.

Umm... yes and no. But because there's so much red and saturation I suppose you could get away with it? Professionals probably wouldn't have time for this picture, lol, but lucky I'm not one of those people. Art is very flexible and sometimes it's better for pictures to express themselves than to simply have sheer skill. I've seen some novice art speak louder than professional work. And using lots of saturation shows me you are full of emotion and soul, and not dull or lifeless :meow: <3 ^^

I'm glad you think so. ^^ It is true that it is over-saturated, but I am aware of that and do it as a stylistic choice. Usually my blush is more rose pink at darkest, but this one is using crimson red at its most intense point because I used crimson red in most of the rest of the picture. Perhaps if I blended the knees better, like I had the cheeks, it would look less localized as a soar spot. :) I'm glad you think that it is full of emotion and soul. I'm trying to feel myself in my art and make it fun again. ^^ Despite depression, I've been feeling eagerness and enjoyment in my anime art returning, and that's so very important to me.

Aw I'm glad! :aww: I'm worried my pictures are losing emotion and soul as my skill level improves. The same thing happened to one of my friends :( I think its better when a picture speaks emotion, but having skill is nice too. Having both is even better! :D

I so fully agree.
Sometimes too much of a mindset focused on skill takes away from the soul of the piece. It's important to have balance, but that gets harder the more you improve and the more skills you earn.
