I was very proud of this piece when I started, but I am horribly discontent with the end result, but perhaps this is just due to my foul mood. Here's hoping that is it. 

I started wanting to use colored pencils to make the lovely bubble colors, which came out beautiful (as can be seen in the Youtube video), but felt the need to sacrifice that for the sake of the message I intended to show. So, I covered over the reflected hues of light with painted rain clouds. I intended to use a thin, translucent veil of paint so that the reflected colors would still show through, but I couldn't get the clouds the way I wanted them, so the thin layers built and built and built until it was too much by the time I was finally satisfied with the clouds. OTL The colored pencils were too harsh to go over the paint and would instead crack it and break it off, so I tried chalk pastels, however, mine are not with me, so I had to borrow some that I am unfamiliar with. 

Needless to say, trying to get that transparent bubble reflecting colored light was a huge pain. 

I wanted Rem, the character, showing how isolated he felt. Out in the middle of space, he floats in his own bubble with storm clouds overhead, raining down in bloody pain. Slowly, it fills the bubble and starts to creep up Rem's feet, gradually engulfing him, though he seems to pay this no mind as his face remains void of expression. The only gesture he makes to show us what he feels is in his body posture: curled into a fetal position. 

While Rem is slowly being drowned in his own gloom, he is unaware, or perhaps, subconsciously trying not to be aware of his childhood friend, the stuffed rabbit on his little DREAM boat, trying to reach him. The rabbit's bubble has a lovely sea bellow and beautiful, fluffy white clouds. It is filled with goodness and pleasant things. I'll let you infer what you think it symbolizes.
